Surakarta Police-Central Java Regional Police-A total of 540 joint security personnel were deployed by the Surakarta Police to secure the Car Free Night activities on New Year’s Eve 2023-2024.
Surakarta Police Chief, Police Commissioner Iwan Saktiadi, SIK.MH.MSi said that the Car Free Night was held along Jalan Slamet Riyadi to Solo City Hall. The plan is to have a number of entertainment stages and set off fireworks at the end of the Car Free Night event at City Hall and Ngarsopuro.
“540 joint personnel, which we will later prepare to secure the 2023 to 2024 New Year celebrations, the focus of which will be the Car Free Night during Slamet Riyadi up to city hall,” explained Police Commissioner Iwan, Thursday (28/12/2023).
It was said that his party was preparing special members to be placed in the middle of crowds to anticipate criminal acts such as pickpocketing and theft. On the other hand, surveillance via 257 CCTVs at various points in the city of Solo is also being optimized during the 2024 New Year celebrations.
“Of course, there will be special monitoring units and 257 CCTVs along the streets of Surakarta city which will monitor the situation to anticipate this,” he concluded.
